NOTICE OF ANTICIPATED VACANCY
JANITOR
Warren County Department of Public Works is seeking a Janitor. This is a competitive position. Job involves manual work requiring efficient performance of simple building cleaning and maintenance duties. A janitor works under general supervision on routine recurring assignments, receiving specific instructions on each new or unusual assignment. The work is occasionally reviewed by inspection and when complaints are received. A janitor supervises the work of one or more subordinate employees engaged in cleaning tasks.
Salary: $42,053 (2026 Base Salary)
Minimum Qualifications:
- One year of building cleaning experience; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
Position will be filled based on Civil Service requirements. A provisional appointment will be
made with examination to be held at a later date. Candidates must meet civil service
requirements for appointment following establishment of eligible list.
