    NOTICE OF VACANCY
     
    Building Maintenance Mechanic

     
    The Warren County Department of Public Works is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Building Maintenance Mechanic at the Warren County Airport. This work involves the repair and maintenance of buildings, grounds and equipment. The work performed is of a general mechanical nature and may include masonry, carpentry, painting, plumbing, heating or electrical maintenance and repair. The work may also involve the operation and minor routine maintenance of motor vehicles or other machinery and equipment as needed. Employees work under general supervision allowing for the exercise of independent judgment in carrying out the details of the work. Direct supervision may be exercised over the work of laborers or other subordinate employees. Does related work as required.  
     
    SALARY: $57,614 (2026 Base Salary)
     
    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
         A)   Four years of experience in general building maintenance, heavy construction or building trades work; or
         B)   One year of experience as a journeyman in one of the recognized skilled trades; or
         C)   An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of (A) and (B) above. 

    SPECIAL REQUIREMENT:
          A) Completion of Basic Airport Safety & Operations Specialist (ASOS) Certification within 1 year of employment             in order to execute daily duties related to airport operations, safety, and security. The certification is offered               by the American Association of Airport Executives to provide employees an overview of Title 14 Code of                   Federal Regulations (FAR) Part 139.
           B)  Completion of FAA’s Live Fire Training Certification within 1 year of employment in order to serve as a                       designated Airport Rescue and Fire Fighter at the Floyd Bennett Memorial Airport.
