NOTICE OF UPCOMING VACANCY
BOOKKEEPER
(Non-competitive through NY HELPS)
The Town of Hague, NY is looking to appoint a full-time bookkeeper. This is a highly responsible position involving municipal bookkeeping, accounting, record keeping, budgeting, payroll and reporting tasks. Good knowledge of the theory and practices of governmental accounting and auditing is required. Successful candidates must be well organized, have sound professional judgement and be able to work independently.
SALARY: $25.00-$31.00 per hour (2025 Entry Range) Commensurate with experience.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration and two (2) years of satisfactory responsible experience in the field of accounting, auditing or bookkeeping; or
- Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and six (6) years of responsible experience in the field of accounting, auditing or bookkeeping; or
- An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of (A) or (B).
NOTE: Verifiable part-time and/or volunteer experience will be pro-rated toward meeting full-time experience requirements.
