• Bartender and Server Roles

    As a service provider at Hometown Golf and Social, you will be cross-trained in bartending, food preparation and golf-focused customer service. You’ll learn how to operate our simulators, deliver attentive and efficient service to guests, prepare drinks, and prepare and present simple menu items in the kitchen. A basic knowledge of golf is required, though additional knowledge can be developed on the job. In both the kitchen and simulator areas, presentation and professionalism are top priorities to ensure a lasting experience for our guests.

    Because this role is cross-trained, your day-to-day responsibilities may vary. Some shifts may focus solely on golf simulator service, others on the kitchen, and at times a blend of both depending on business volume and time of day. We value flexibility and, in return, provide strong support from our team.

    Responsibilities
    Kitchen:

    • Prepare and assemble simple menu items in a timely, efficient manner (hot dogs, sandwiches, salads, etc.)
    • Work collaboratively with bar staff to ensure smooth service
    • Follow food safety and cleanliness standards at all times
    • Ensure consistency and proper presentation with each dish
    • Keep kitchen space stocked, clean, and organized
    • Wash dishes as needed and at the end of each shift
    Golf:
    • Provide warm, professional customer service
    • Operate and troubleshoot the golf simulators
    • Ensure golf simulator area is organized and cleaned between groups
    • Be able to carry golf-oriented conversations with customers during slower periods
    • Deliver food from the kitchen to simulator bays, tables, and the bar both properly and efficiently
    • Clear plates and maintain cleanliness of the guest areas, kitchen, and bar as needed
    • Communicate with and assist front and back-of-house staff to ensure smooth and timely service
    Bar:
    • Provide friendly, attentive service to guests at the bar and throughout the facility
    • Prepare and serve beer, wine, and simple mixed drinks accurately and efficiently
    • Check IDs and follow all responsible alcohol service guidelines
    • Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked bar area throughout the shift
    • Handle tabs and payments accurately using the POS system
    • Communicate with kitchen/golf staff to coordinate drink and food orders
    • Restock bar supplies and complete cleaning tasks at the end of each shift

    Qualifications
    • Some kitchen/bar service experience preferred, but we are happy to train
    • Detail-oriented with a passion for quality 
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
    • Can effectively communicate and work collaboratively
    • Basic understanding of golf rules, lingo, and gameplay
    • Ability to thrive in a community-oriented setting, where most customers are regulars or members
