    Caleo Counseling Services, the outpatient clinic of ASCEND, is seeking a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to work with a diverse mental health population, including adults and children. This individual will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team for individualized mental health treatment and coordination of care for clients.

    Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Education & Qualification Requirements:

    • Current licensure and registration as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner by New York State.
    • Current DEA licensure
    • Valid NYS driver’s license acceptable to Agency insurance standards.
    • Must be of good character and background and display an affinity for working with people with mental illness and/or co-occurring disorders.
    • Must have the ability to work independently, have good problem solving skills and have the ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

    Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

    • Provide therapeutic intervention on an ongoing basis with clients to assist them to understand their emotional and mental behavior, and to help with their recovery.
    • Diagnose and treat mental disorders by using analysis through cognitive and therapeutic testing, interviews and observation, counseling and medication.
    • Collaborate and coordinate treatment with other service providers in community.
    • Provide crisis intervention within the Agency.
    • Participate in team meetings, and supervision as necessary, as well as engage in ongoing continuing education.
    • Order laboratory and other special diagnostic tests and evaluate data obtained.
    • Participate in Quality Management Initiatives
    • Maintain a safe environment for all clients and staff.
    • Maintain effective communication with other staff members and supervisor.
    • Preserve human dignity and confidentiality of all clients and act in the best interest of those served through the Agency’s programs and services.
    • Assure quality of work at all times.
    • Adhere to all laws and regulations applicable to the Agency’s business.
    • Adhere to the Agency’s Corporate Compliance Program and established policies and procedures.
    • Positively represent the Agency within the community at all times.
    • Have adequate computer skills, or more refined for specific job titles.
    • Actively participate in scheduled team/staff meetings as scheduled by supervisor or as indicated by the program’s services.
    • Actively participate in Agency sponsored staff development and in-service educational programs as deemed necessary by supervisor, including mandatory trainings assigned per job title.

    Pay: $70.00 - $78.00 per hour
