    Since 1910, Family Service Association of Glens Falls has helped individuals and families facing circumstances beyond their resources. Through kindness, assistance, and support, we connect community members in Warren, Washington and Northern Saratoga Counties with practical support and pathways toward stability. Our programs include a food pantry, Feet First, Adopt-A-Family, special-needs financial aid, eyeglass and hearing support, community referrals, and other services responsive to local needs.

    The Opportunity
    Family Service Association is seeking a collaborative, community-minded Executive Director to lead the organization’s day-to-day operations and advance its mission. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director provides overall leadership for programs, staff, volunteers, finances, fundraising, community partnerships, and organizational development.

    Key Responsibilities
    • Lead the daily operations of the organization and ensure programs are delivered effectively and compassionately.
    • Partner with the Board of Directors and serve as a trusted advisor on organizational priorities, policies, and planning.
    • Oversee staff, volunteers, program coordination, and ongoing training and development.
    • Prepare and manage the annual operating budget in partnership with the Board and bookkeeper.
    • Maintain appropriate business, program, and financial records.
    • Identify funding opportunities, prepare grant applications, and support fundraising and donor relationships.
    • Represent the organization at community, civic, government, and human-service meetings.
    • Build strong partnerships and communicate the impact of the Association’s work throughout the region.

    Qualifications
    • Bachelor’s degree in human services, social work, public administration, nonprofit management, or a related field. A combination of relevant education and experience may be considered.
    • At least five years of progressive leadership or management experience in a nonprofit, community-based, or human-service setting.
    • Experience supervising staff and volunteers and working collaboratively with a board or governing body.
    • Demonstrated ability in budgeting, financial oversight, grant writing, fundraising, and organizational administration.
    • Strong communication, relationship-building, public speaking, and problem-solving skills.
    • Knowledge of community resources and the needs of individuals and families experiencing hardship is strongly preferred.

    Compensation and Benefits
    Starting salary is $63,000 and is negotiable based on relevant experience and education. A range of employment benefits and supports may be available as part of the overall compensation package. Specific offerings will be discussed with finalists and confirmed as part of the hiring process.
