    NOTICE OF ANTICIPATED VACANCY
     
    ENGINEER II
     
                    The Warren County Department of Public Works is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Engineer II. The Engineer II is responsible for full-performance engineering design and management requiring thorough knowledge and experience in a wide range of engineering duties in connection with the design, construction, inspection or maintenance of public works. The Engineer II is expected to have the ability to apply this knowledge and experience to complete complex engineering projects and assignments.
     
    SALARY: $86,024
     
    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
    1. A Bachelor’s Degree* in engineering, engineering technology or a closely related field and five (5) years of experience** performing either:
    1. Engineering design of highways, bridges, culverts and/or facilities using AutoCAD or other engineering software, or
    2. Field inspection of highways, culverts, bridges and/or facilities, or
    3. Technical writing or engineering reports and project bid documents/technical specifications, OR
    1. An Associate’s Degree* in engineering, engineering technology or a closely related field and seven (7)  years of experience** performing either:
    1. Engineering design of highways, bridges, culverts and/or facilities using AutoCAD or other engineering software, or
    2. Field inspection of highways, culverts, bridges and/or facilities, or
    3. Technical writing of engineering reports and project bid documents/technical specifications.
     
    * Acceptable areas of engineering education include Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering or a closely related field.  Degrees in the following fields are not acceptable: Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Public Health Engineering or Computer Technology.
     
    ** One year of experience must have included project leader responsibilities of persons performing professional activities.
     
    The position will be filled based upon Civil Service requirements. A provisional appointment will be made with examination to be held at a later date. Candidate must meet Civil Service requirements for appointment following establishment of the Eligible List.
