• Ticonderoga Early Learning Center (Daycare) Aide and Floater

    Under the direction of the Early Childhood Director, the Childcare Center Floater/Aide will be responsible for assisting with activities and providing coverage in classrooms, on the playground, during meals, and nap times.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • ·Assists the classroom teacher to implement learning experiences.
    • Assists children in accomplishing learning activities.
    • Assists in monitoring children during meals, play, and nap time
    • Provides coverage for classroom teachers, as needed.
    • Relieves teachers and fills in for teacher absences, as needed.
    • Assists the classroom teacher to maintain a safe and positive learning environment.
    • Participates in required training and workshops, as needed to meet NYS OCFS regulations.
    • Performs other duties, as requested.
    Requirements
    • A high school diploma is required.
    • Experience in a childcare setting is preferred.
    • A friendly, professional demeanor is required; must have the ability to relate to children and develop positive relationships.
    • Excellent communication and multitasking skills.
    • Must hold or be able to obtain First Aid, CPR and AED certifications within 30 days of hire; must complete Child Abuse Prevention and Health and Safety course from NYS OCFS within 30 days of hire.
    • Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse groups of people representing all social and economic segments of the community.
    • Proficiency in office software, as needed.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 

    This position requires the ability to participate in a variety of physical activities; to bend, stoop, kneel, twist, reach, walk, pull, push, sit, or stand for prolonged periods of time. Other physical requirements include the ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, have finger dexterity, grasp, perform repetitive motions, talk and hear.

    $17.25 - $18.50
