HERE’S OUR ASK: WEAR YOUR MASK,
WASH YOUR HANDS AND STAY SIX FEET APART
ARCC Launches Community Appeal to Keep Our Neighbors Safe
The Adirondack Regional Chamber of Commerce (ARCC) and a coalition of local businesses and civic leaders has launched a community appeal for people to wear masks and facial coverings while in public, wash their hands frequently and stay six feet or more apart.“We want our region of Upstate New York to reopen as quickly and safely as possible, and each of us can contribute by doing our part to avoid spreading the virus,’’ said Michael Bittel, President and CEO of the ARCC. “We need to keep people healthy and we need to get back to work. So, remember your mask. Don’t leave home without it! And remember to wash your hands and stay six feet apart, too.”Health experts have warned that, as parts of the state and nation reopen, the risk of spreading the virus may increase.“All of us want to avoid a resurgence in COVID-19 cases, so we’re urging our members and the community to be careful,” said Marc Monahan of NBT Bank, chair of the ARCC Board of Directors. “Wearing a face covering, washing your hands and social distancing show your respect and concern for the health of other people and the wellbeing of our community.’’“It may be awkward for some people to wear a mask but think of it this way: It’s a statement that you care about our community. It’s a way of honoring our first responders and front-line health care heroes, and it says you’re doing your part,” said Deana Endieveri, nePROMO.“Hudson Headwaters supports the CDC’s advice to wear a mask, wash your hands and stay six feet apart from others. These simple guidelines are currently the most effective ways we can keep ourselves and our neighbors healthy,” says Hudson Headwaters CEO, Dr. Tucker Slingerland. “We appreciate the Adirondack Regional Chamber of Commerce’s efforts to promote this important message in our region.”“We encourage everyone to wear a mask when in public," said ARCC member Michael Murray, AJA Architecture.“At Glens Falls Hospital we know the value of being vigilant – and it is not just about protecting yourself. When you wear your mask, practice social distancing, and practice good hand hygiene, you are also protecting those you love, and our fellow community members. It’s as simple as that,” said Dianne Shugrue, Glens Falls Hospital."Wearing a mask during these challenging times is one way we give back to our community. We've also provided a stipend to our employees and their families to purchase face protection. Together we can defend our family, friends, and neighbors from this unseen enemy," said ARCC member Juan Gonzales, Hunt Companies, Inc."We at Associates of Glens Falls understand that we all have to do our part. We encourage everyone to follow the CDC’s COVID -19 guidelines, especially wearing masks in the workplace when appropriate," said Chuck Gohn, Associates of Glens Falls, an ARCC member. The Adirondack Regional Chamber of Commerce campaign has been endorsed by:-
