    CITY OF GLENS FALLS – VACANCY
     
    WASTEWATER LAB TECHNICIAN
     
     
    The City of Glens Falls is seeking applications for a full-time provisional position of WWTP Lab Technician. The work involves responsibility for performing chemical, biological, microbiological and bacteriological testing and physical analysis or raw and treated wastewater.  This is technical laboratory work involving routine testing for the sanitary chemical and physical analysis of wastewater.  The work is performed in accordance with the prescribed procedure requiring a high degree of accuracy.  Direct supervision is exercised over Wastewater Laboratory Technician.
     
    SALARY: Starting salary – $45,273 (40-hour wk.)  Monday-Friday
     
    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
    1. Graduation from a regionally accredited or NYS registered college or university with an associate degree in chemistry, biology, bacteriology, microbiology or laboratory technology or related field and one-year experience in a public or private laboratory; OR
    2. Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and three years of experience in a public or private laboratory performing technical laboratory duties; or
    3. An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of A and B.
     
    Position will be filled based on Civil Service requirements. A provisional appointment will be made with examination to be held at a later date. Candidate must meet civil service requirements for appointment following establishment of eligible list.
