Upstate Revitalization Initiative Town Hall Planned for August 19th

As part of Governor Cuomo’s Upstate Revitalization Initiative, the Capital Region Economic Development Council (CREDC) is leading an effort to create a regional economic transformation plan and compete for $500 million in related State funding. A critical element of the plan’s success will be its ability to prioritize and leverage the shared assets and aspirations of the various jurisdictions within our region. With that in mind, the Adirondack Regional Chamber of Commerce and EDC Warren County will be co-hosting a Town Hall event with the CREDC at SUNY Adirondack, Regional Higher Education Center Auditorium, Room 128 on Wednesday, August 19.

“If we’re successful in being one of the regions to receive one the UR grant, it will transform Warren and Washington County, as well as the entire Capital Region,” said Chamber President and CEO Peter Aust. “We know that there is a myriad of ideas that would help transform this region and we want those ideas brought up at this event.”

Registration starts at 8:00AM with the Town Hall held from 8:30 – 10:00. We will be soliciting your input on transformational strategies and initiatives that will enable sustained economic growth and prosperity. Please join us at this important event to make sure your voice is heard. RSVPs are appreciated; please e-mail advisorycouncil@capital2020.biz.

For more information about the URI, please visit www.capital2020.biz. To date, more than 1,000 people have engaged in the process and shared ideas through surveys, focus groups, attendance at community events, and through this website.
