The Adirondack Trust Company recently announced that it has donated $1,750 to Saratoga PLAN as part of its annual ATC Credit Card Donation. Once per year, Adirondack Trust donates a percentage of the interest earned on credit-card balances to a local, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. The organization is selected as part of the ATC survey that is sent out annually and chosen by ATC credit-card customers.
“For more than two decades, we’ve made an annual contribution to a local nonprofit organization through our credit-card donation program,” said Adirondack Trust President & CEO Charles V. Wait, Jr.. “This year, we are so proud to donate to the Saratoga PLAN, which is dedicated to preserving land and nature.”
PLAN, which stands for “preserving land and nature,” connects people to nature through an extensive trail network with more than 200 miles of trails in the country. The organization is a community-based conservation organization, focusing on conserving places for people. The ATC Credit Card Donation will help further its mission of protecting land for all.
“Saratoga PLAN is extremely grateful for this generous donation from the Adirondack Trust Company. We will put it to good use conserving fertile farmland, protecting woods and waters and wildlife habitats, partnering with towns protect their natural resources, and creating safe and welcoming outdoor spaces for the public to enjoy,” said Saratoga PLAN Executive Director Maria Trabka. “The bank’s credit card users have shown their love for the land and their appreciation for the benefits of outdoor spaces, which have become even more important to people’s lives during the pandemic, where they can go with family and friends to exercise, breathe, unwind, rejuvenate, and immerse in nature.”
Formed in 2003, Saratoga PLAN works to preserve the rural character, natural habitats and scenic beauty of Saratoga County, ancestral homelands of the Mohican, Mohawk, and Abenaki people, so that these irreplaceable assets are accessible to all and survive for future generations. Saratoga PLAN helps communities create plans that balance growth with conservation to sustain the Saratoga Region as a great place to live, work, visit, and farm.
