The Adirondack Regional Chamber of Commerce (ARCC) is thrilled to welcome on two new team members. Joining the ARCC Team are Carol Ann Conover, as Member Services, and Karen Mattison as Finance Manager.

Carol Ann Conover, a South Jersey native, has a diverse professional background spanning multiple business sectors. She began in healthcare as a nurse’s aide at ACMC through college and went on to become Administrator for a comprehensive cardiac facility by the age of 25 before relocating to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where she began her writing career with a small local paper.
She authored several regular feature columns including the “Getting to Know” series covering local officials and community-minded residents of note and the “But Who Cares What I Think” opinion series which is being developed into a variety-show podcast.
With a special passion for travel and tourism hospitality, Carol Ann has written food and travel columns and reviews for several newspapers and online journals, including Examiner.com, The South Florida Chronicle and Go Riverwalk magazine. In 2007, she was named Best Feature Ad Writer with By the Sea Times and in 2011, she won the Best Writer award with the prestigious Women in the Arts coalition.
She has been active in the Adirondack region and Glens Falls community since moving here permanently in 2013, working primarily in hospitality at Davidson Brothers and most recently The Queensbury Hotel. She has served at the Glens Falls Farmer’s Market with Dickinson’s Delights, and has been an active fundraiser, most recently for the Great Cycle Challenge benefiting Children’s Cancer Charities.
Carol Ann also operates a freelance writing and social media & marketing business and brings with her an unparalleled attitude of service and networking expertise.
Karen Mattison, owner of Busy Bee Bookkeeping, LLC, has joined the ARCC team. She earned a Bachelor's degree in Accounting from the College of St. Joseph after which she worked for a local CPA firm for 13 years, gaining a breadth of knowledge in taxation and bookkeeping. In 2018 she started her own business and obtained her IRS Enrolled Agent designation in 2019. Karen has a love of numbers and assisting businesses in streamlining their bookkeeping and accounting practices.
Joining the ARCC team allows her to assist an organization which lends its experience and excitement to the development of local business and regional advancement.
