About this Position:
Responsible for developing and retaining a book of middle market commercial insurance clients. Will work as a specialist in Hospitality/Recreation or Property Services. Expected to be consultative and strategic in approach to the marketplace. Works closely with Sales Management and Commercial Lines Account Executives to develop strategies and to align insurance carriers with those strategies. This position is located in our South Glens Falls, NY location.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
> Build and maintain pipeline of new business prospects sufficient to meet new business objectives
> Receive, record, and process all client information necessary to prepare application forms for insurance policies
> Utilize available value-added resources to enhance relationships, increase retention and create referral opportunities
> Work to meet or exceed annual new business revenue goals.
> In conjunction with Commercial Lines Leadership, interface with various insurance carriers to ensure products offered to each client best meets client’s needs.
> Provide consistent, outstanding customer service by anticipating and reacting to customer needs.
> Adhere to renewal process to include timelines, documentation and developing renewal strategy for each account

Education/Certifications/Experience:
> Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required
> 6+ years of experience in sales, insurance, business or Hospitality/Recreation Required
> Valid New York State insurance licenses required, or will obtain within one year.
Skills/Knowledge:
> Excellent sales personality – comfortable presenting information, handling objections, closing a sale
> Solid communication skills, both written and verbal; comfortable communicating with customers, co-workers, management, insurance carriers, and community influencers
> Proven ability to effectively communicate insurance concepts and information to varied audiences
> Exceptional listening and problem-solving skills to identify needs and make connections to products or services to meet those needs
> Ability to independently handle multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines; attention to detail a must
> Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, and Outlook

The salary range for this position is $55,500 - $80,000 annually commensurate with experience and education.
Additional compensation may be earned through the Company’s incentive programs, subject to individual performance.
