NOTICE OF ANTICIPATED VACANCY
GIS TAX MAP TECHNICIAN
The Real Property Tax Services Director is seeking applications from qualified candidates for the position of GIS Tax Map Technician. The successful candidate will coordinate, oversee and participate in the development, maintenance and update of the County’s real property tax maps and related applications, using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) technology. Duties include the review/plotting/mapping of property line changes and maintenance of related records as well as records research and on-site field visits.
SALARY: $59,701.00 (2025 Base) Full-time w/ benefits
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree which shall have included a minimum of thirty credit hours in Engineering, Land Surveying, Geographic Information Systems or related coursework; or
- Associate’s degree in Engineering, Land Surveying, Geographic Information Systems or related field and two (2) years of paid work experience which shall have included land surveying, tax map preparation or drafting as a primary function of the job; or
- Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and four (4) years of paid work experience which shall have included land surveying, tax map preparation or drafting as a primary function of the job.
RESIDENCY REQUIREMENTS: Candidates must be legal residents of Warren County or a contiguous county (Essex, Hamilton, Saratoga or Washington) for a least four (4) months immediately preceding the date of the exam.
The position will be filled based upon Civil Service requirements. A provisional appointment will be made with examination to be held at a later date. Candidate must meet Civil Service requirements for appointment following establishment of the Eligible List.
