    NOTICE OF VACANCY
     
    FLEET & EQUIPMENT MANAGER
     
    The Warren County Department of Public Works is seeking a qualified candidate for the full-time position of Fleet & Equipment Manager. This is a responsible position involving managing the fleet and equipment maintenance program to support department operations. The employee is responsible for administering program activities for the Vehicle/Machinery Division of the Department of Public Works including personnel recruitment and training, budget preparation and control, evaluation and planning of fleet acquisitions, and preventative maintenance and repair. The employee reports directly to, and works under, the general supervision of the Superintendent of Public Works. General supervision is exercised over a subordinate staff. Does related work as required.
     
    SALARY: $81,496-$88,516 (Commensurate with experience), Full-time with benefits.
     
    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
    1. Bachelor’s degree, plus five (5) years of paid full-time or its part-time equivalent experience supervising a vehicle and/or heavy equipment maintenance operation; or
    2. Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma; and nine (9) years paid full-time or its part-time equivalent experience supervising a vehicle and/or heavy equipment maintenance operation; or
    3. Any equivalent combination of education and experience as defined by the limits of (A) and (B).
    SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Possession of a valid license to operate a motor vehicle in New York State.
     
    The position will be filled based upon Civil Service requirements. A provisional appointment will be made with examination to be held at a later date. Candidate must meet Civil Service requirements for appointment following establishment of the Eligible List.
     
    Authority to fill this job vacancy is subject to the approval of the Board of Supervisors.
