    CITY OF GLENS FALLS—VACANCY
     
    CITY CONTROLLER (PROVISIONAL)
     
    The work involves responsibility for maintaining the financial records of the City as the chief accounting and auditing officer of the City of Glens Falls. The duties include the maintenance of all municipal accounting records; the auditing of claims against the City and maintaining the budgets of all departments and offices in accordance with prescribed laws and procedures. The incumbent also prepares a variety of complex and important reports relating to the financial status of the City. General control and management of accounts and finances exercised by the Mayor and Common Council. Supervision may be exercised over the work of al account-keeping and clerical subordinates.
     
    Residency: Candidates must have been legal resident of Warren or a contiguous County for at least four months immediately preceding the date of the exam.
     
    Salary: $80,000-$90,000 (commensurate with experience)
     
    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
    A) Master’s degree in accounting or a related field and two (2) years of accounting or auditing experience involving the maintenance or auditing of double-entry books of a business or governmental agency, including general ledger; or
    B) Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field and four (4) years of accounting or auditing experience involving the maintenance or auditing of double-entry books of a business or governmental agency, including general ledger; or
     
    C) Any equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of (A) and (B) above.
     
    NOTE: Examples of related fields include degrees in business administration, public administration, economics, or finance which included or was supplemented by at least eighteen credit hours in accounting coursework.
