    NOTICE OF VACANCY
    BOOKKEEPER

    (16-20 Part-time, flexible hours)
     
    This work involves performing accounting and bookkeeping services for a department or municipality.  Supervision may be exercised over a small number of clerical employees; does related work as required.  Requires good knowledge of the practices of governmental accounting, auditing, modern account keeping and bookkeeping principles and techniques.  Duties include, but not limited to: preparing financial reports and journal entries, processing payroll and other related duties as required. Demonstrated experience with Excel and Word required.
     
    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
    1. Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration and two years of satisfactory responsible experience in the field of accounting, auditing or bookkeeping; or
    2. Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and six years of responsible experience in the field of accounting, auditing or bookkeeping; or
    3. An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of (A) or (B).
    NOTE:  Verifiable part-time and/or volunteer experience will be pro-rated toward meeting full-time experience requirements.
     
    SALARY: $20.00 per hour
     
    The position will be filled based upon Civil Service requirements. A provisional appointment will be made with examination to be held at a later date. Candidate must meet Civil Service requirements for appointment following establishment of the Eligible List.
