    CITY OF GLENS FALLS—VACANCY 
    Administrative Secretary (PROVISIONAL)
     
    City of Glens Falls is seeking a full-time, provisional, ADMINISTRATIVE SECRETARY for our Police Department. An incumbent in this position acts as the administrative assistant and personal secretary to the Police Chief. Duties include oversight of the various clerical, fiscal and personnel operations of the Department. This confidential position requires a high degree of judgment as well as knowledge of department policies and procedures and related laws and regulations.
     
    Residency: Candidates must have been legal resident of Warren or a contiguous County for at least four months immediately preceding the date of the exam.
     
    Salary:    $39,500    35-hour work week M-F
     
    Minimum Qualifications:
    (a)        Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with an Associate’s Degree or higher and two (2) years of full-time paid clerical experience or its part-time equivalent in an office setting which shall have included using a word processor or personal computer as a major function of the job; OR
    (b)        Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and four (4) years of full-time paid clerical experience or its part-time equivalent in an office setting which shall have included using a word processor or personal computer as a major function of the job.
