    Job Description



    Glens Falls National Bank & Trust Company is seeking an experienced

    Security Analyst

    In this position within our IT Department, you would be responsible for planning and supporting security measures to protect computer systems, networks, and Company data.  Uses latest intelligence to anticipate potential security breaches; responsible for preventing data loss and service interruptions by researching and recommending new technologies to effectively protect the network.

    Responsibilities Include:

    § Function as intermediary between Audit Department and Information Technology Department on security-related audit responses; manage remediation for issues identified.

    § Provide expert security consultancy during requirements, design, and planning phases of purchasing and implementation of projects and applications.

    § Perform daily review of Security Logs, generate dashboards and other daily status reporting using SIEM tool(s); perform daily operational real-time monitoring and analysis of security events from multiple sources.

    § Assist in managing threat intelligence feeds.

    § Research and contribute to security policies, standards, and procedures; help develop and implement aspects of Information Security Program beyond Information Technology and Compliance.

    § Analyze security breaches and vulnerability issues in a timely manner.

    § Review network designs and evaluate compliance to applicable security standards as needed; make recommendations for security improvements.

    §  Participate in ongoing information security activities including questions, problems, exceptions, and incident responses.

    §  Responsible for patch management process and monitoring.



    §  Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience required; advanced degree or relevant certifications preferred

    §  6+ years of experience in computer science or related discipline; 5 years of information security experience preferred


    Skills/Knowledge Requirements:

    §  Ability to work independently and as part of a cooperative work team to achieve goals

    §  Analytical thinker/problem solver; builds logical approach to address problems/opportunities using knowledge, experience, and alternative references and resources

    §  Demonstrated skill with security concepts, defense-in-depth strategies, security tools, and security protocols; technology savvy

    §  Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite:  Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint; up-to-date knowledge of latest intelligence, including hacker methodologies; knowledge of SIEM tool(s) a plus

    §  Quality communications skills, both written and verbal; ability to convey information effectively to a variety of audiences so messages are understood and retained; excellent listening skills
