    Financial Solutions Representative
    We seek a Financial Solutions Representative to contact and answer calls from members in the early stage of delinquency. The position will counsel members to help them make financial arrangements to bring delinquent accounts to a current status and handle members’ insurance and debt protection claims.
    Other duties to include:

    • Handle phone calls from members and other credit union departments to resolve problems with members’ accounts. Identify at risk accounts and make attempts to collect the debt following all federal & state laws, and policies and procedures of the credit union.
    • Mailing of letters to members per guidelines. 
    • Handling of insurance and debt protection claims.
    • Handling total loss claims for members.
    • Processing payments received by the Financial Solutions Department. 
    Experience: At least one year of related work experience in customer/member service or collections. 
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including excellent phone etiquette.
    • Proactive problem solver, fostering teamwork and trust, be highly skilled in prioritizing and organizing.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office products.
    • Understanding of the Fair Debt Collection Practices, Attorney General Agreement, Affordable Care Act and general familiarity with bankruptcy laws is a plus.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to respond professionally to situations involving conflict and emotion.
    • Self-motivation, problem resolution including professionalism and composure is required.
    • Basic knowledge of accounting principles and accounts receivable systems is also helpful.
    This position is located at our Operations Center in Corinth, NY. Full-Time Monday through Friday, with a Saturday rotation.
