    • Candidates must have a thorough knowledge of principles and practices of office management, including the handling of confidential information and records of individuals; knowledge of personnel methods and procedures, organizational reporting and communication, and supervisory principles and techniques; thorough knowledge of office terminology, procedures, and equipment; thorough knowledge of business arithmetic and English, good knowledge of statistical techniques, particularly in relation to the collection and tabulation of raw data; good knowledge of computer software using databases and spreadsheets; ability to train and supervise employees in office methods and procedures; ability to organize and layout work for others; ability to get along well with supervisors and others and to secure their cooperation; resourcefulness in the solution of complex administrative problems; physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.

    Knowledge of IEP Direct, CSE/CPSE/504 documents preferred.

    Please note that this appointment is a provisional appointment subject to minimum qualifications as outlined by the Warren County Civil Service Department. The candidate will be required to take/pass and successfully place in the top 3 on the competitive Administrative Assistant list of eligibles.

    Minimum qualifications needed to sit for the competitive Warren County Civil Service exam are:
    (a) Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with a bachelor's degree and one year of secretarial experience which shall have included supervision of subordinates; or
    (b) Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and five years of secretarial experience which shall have included supervision of subordinates; or
    (c) An equivalent combination of experience and training as defined by the limits of (a) and (b) above.
