And our region has experienced a 44% drop in available childcare "slots" since the pandemic began.\n\nDuring this discussion\, you will learn: \n\n\n	of the complexities of the childcare industry which has impacted the availability of childcare\;\n	how the lack of adequate childcare impacts the workforce and businesses\;\n	about current initiatives and efforts around addressing the childcare gaps\;\n	how businesses can help address the challenges and support local initiatives.\n\n\n\n\n\nMeet our Guest Speakers\n\n\n\n\n\nLiza Ochsendorf - Director of Employment & Training for Warren County\, NY   \n\nLiza oversees the county operations of WIOA Title I programs in the Warren County Career Center and works closely with local and regional partners to address barriers to employment such as child care\, housing\, transportation\, skill deficits\, etc.  Her work in addressing local industry needs has led to stronger private-public sector partnerships to problem solve collaboratively for short and long-term solutions to workforce challenges.  Her passion for workforce development and economic development is rooted in community collaboration\, effective communication\, and clear goals and desired outcomes for all stakeholders.  Liza has 14 years of experience working in education in Washington\, DC where she oversaw Life Skills programs and was instrumental in implementing Restorative Justice practices to build community and improve student outcomes. Liza is a graduate of Syracuse University and resides in Glens Falls where she also serves on the Board of Directors for the Tri-County United Way\, the Executive Board for the Saratoga-North Country Continuum of Care\, and the Park Theater Foundation Board.\n\n\n\n\n\nLynn Sickles - Executive Director of the Southern Adirondack Child Care Network\n\nSouthern Adirondack Child Care is not for profit child care resource and referral agency. Lynn has held her position there since the organization was founded in 1992 and she is responsible for overall management of the organization and works extensively with various stakeholders and the community to address local early care and education issues.  She is passionate about her work in the early childhood field.\n\n\n\nMs. Sickles is a current board member for the WAIT House and is the previous board chair for the state wide Early Care and Learning Council\, a previous board member of the NYS Association for the Education of Young Children and a past chair of the local affiliate\, the North Country Association for the Education of Young Children. \n\n\n\nIn addition to her early childhood work\, Lynn enjoys gardening\, writing and her work as a Health\, Wellness and Life Coach. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n*ARCC's Cancelation Policy: A registration is a reservation and we look forward to you joining us.
