    Through the Board of Cooperative Educational Services (BOCES), the region's school districts have further enhanced their capacity to provide local students with access to a range of sophisticated career and technical education programs as well. For students interested in a career in health care, engineering or the theater arts especially, the BOCES offers a 'New Visions' program designed to help college-bound high school seniors gain valuable experience and knowledge. While admission into the New Visions program is competitive and highly selective, the BOCES provides a range of additional technical and enrichment courses in land conservation, CISCO networking, criminal justice, culinary arts, electronic imaging, graphic and visual communication, machine tool technology, and much more.     The region's public schools provide a full range of educational programs and services. Throughout the region, these local school districts have a proven track record of success academically along with a genuine commitment to offering students a complete education with extracurricular activities including but not limited to: interscholastic sports, choruses, orchestras, speech, debate and drama, and unique opportunities for volunteering.

    The Adirondack Region is served by several private and parochial schools St. Mary-St. Alphonsus Regional Catholic School in Glens Falls has an over 130-year tradition of educational excellence. The school provides both pre-school and kindergarten through 8th grade curricula. The Prospect Child and Family Center in Queensbury is a fully accredited educational facility that offers multi-faceted services for at-risk and developmentally disabled individuals. The Center for Educational Programs at Prospect School includes part and full-time classes for children ages two to 21.

    The Family YMCA of Glens Falls hosts a variety of pre- and after school, educational fitness programs, and summer camps. Warren County Head Start in Glens Falls serves pre-schoolers. Private pre-school and day care centers flourish by offering exceptional care and programs.
