U.S. Chamber Awards Regent Scholarship to ARCC’s Marcantonio

Institute for Organization Management, the professional development program of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, announced that John Marcantonio, membership manager of the Adirondack Regional Chamber of Commerce (ARCC) has been awarded a Regent Scholarship. Given to 102 professionals across the country, Regent Scholarships recognize each recipient for their involvement in industry professional organizations, community service, and professional background.

“Regent scholarships offer executives the opportunity to attend Institute and learn about emerging industry trends, expand their organizations’ influence, and grow their peer network,” said Raymond P. Congratulations to Sam Luciano of the Best Western Lake George in Lake George, New York, for being honored as an “All-Star” at Best Western International’s annual Governor’s Conference in Phoenix, Ariz. The Board of Directors serve as uncompensated volunteers who are elected by members of the organization whose primary responsibility is to advance the mission of the Chamber, set direction and policy and provide fiduciary leadership to insure the ARCC remains a vital and sound organization for its members and stakeholders. The Adirondack Regional Chamber of Commerce (ARCC) announced its 23rd J. Walter Juckett Community Service Award will be presented to Glens Falls Regional President of NBT Bank Dan Burke, at the 98th Annual J. Walter Juckett Awards Banquet & United Way Auction on Thursday, February 9, 2012 at the Glens Falls Civic Center Heritage Hall in downtown Glens Falls.

Burke, who has been the Glens Falls Regional President of NBT since June 2007, has 25 years banking experience, including serving as president and chief executive officer of TD Banknorth New York and its predecessor, Evergreen Bank. Over the years, Burke held several senior-level positions, including executive vice president of retail banking and senior vice president of marketing. Before entering the banking industry, he was a consultant and federal employee in Washington, D.C. for ten years.

“Dan demonstrates a fierce commitment and hands-on dedication to the betterment of our local community,” said ARCC President and CEO Peter Aust. “Through his substantial contributions to the community, he has earned the respect and admiration of his peers. Phinney Design Group, a multi-disciplinary Architecture and Interior Design Firm in Saratoga Springs, hired James (Jace) L. Brown as an Intern Architect/Job Captain.

Brown holds a bachelor’s degree from Bowdoin College and a master’s degree in architecture from RPI and was previously employed as Vice President of Strategic Projects at Witt Construction, Inc.  Jace is currently designing a lakeside residence in Pilot Knob, NY.

Fort William Henry CEO Elected to State’s Hospitality and Tourism Association

Kathryn F. Muncil, CEO of Fort William Henry Corp. in Lake George, New York, was recently elected Secretary/Treasurer of the New York State Hospitality & Tourism Association’s (NYSH&TA) Board of Directors, effective January 1, 2012.

“I am happy to work with NYSH&TA for the legislative and educational support it offers to the industry,” said Muncil. “NYSH&TA is helping hotels and tourism organizations hold steady and thrive so we are ready when the economy does turn around.”

Muncil has worked at Fort William Henry Corp., a multi-faceted tourism operation which owns independent hotels and the Fort William Henry Museum, for 18 years. She currently serves the Association as a member of its Finance & Audit Committee and its Publication & Marketing Action Committee. (more…)

Rosetti, CPA, CFE, CFF, a Partner with BST’s Valuation, Forensic, and Litigation Support unit, recently conducted two separate fraud detection and prevention training seminars.  The first was conducted in Switzerland for some of the country’s largest companies; the second in Arkansas, for companies that included WalMart, Tyson Foods, and JB Hunt.
