Bulmer Named GFN VP of Administrative Services & Project Management.

Thomas J. Murphy, President of Glens Falls National Bank and Trust Company has announced the appointment of Mark E. Bulmer, CPA to Vice President of Administrative Services and Project Management.

Mr. Bulmer joins Glens Falls National with over 20 years of management and accounting experience, most recently as General Manager at Navilyst Medical in Glens Falls.  Prior to that, he held various senior positions with Boston Scientific Corporation, serving as Vice President of Operations, Director of Finance, as well as Manufacturing Manager.  He previously served as Plant Manager, Controller and Corporate Auditor for CAE Screen Plates Inc.  He started his professional career with General Electric Company in Waterford, and later became a Senior Staff Accountant for Coopers and Lybrand in Albany.

Mr. Bulmer is Chairman of the Board of Trustees for SUNY Adirondack; a Trustee of St. Mary’s Church and has previously served as Co-Chairman of the Glens Falls School District Building Review Committee, and as a member of the Glens Falls National Bank’s Regional Development Board.   He is a former member of the Board of Directors of the Tri-County United Way, the Adirondack Business and School Partnership, and has served as a member of the ARCC Leadership Advisory Board, as well as the Kensington Road School Site Team.

Mr. Bulmer earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Engineering from the State University of New York at Buffalo.  He received his MBA in Accounting from Union College.  He has participated in numerous professional improvement programs, including the Adirondack Regional Chamber of Commerce Community Leadership Program. Mr. Bulmer resides in Glens Falls with his wife, Clare and their four sons.

Grove Associates Selected to Facilitate Leadership Adirondack Retreat

The Adirondack Regional Chamber of Commerce (ARCC) announced that Grove Associates Consulting of Glens Falls has been selected to facilitate their two-day retreat for Leadership Adirondack, September 27-28, 2011 at Silver Bay YMCA Retreat and Conference Center of the Adirondacks.

The region’s premiere educational opportunity and a key program of ARCC, Leadership Adirondack is in its 22nd year and has graduated more than 300 community minded leaders, who have gone on to serve as volunteer leaders of state and regional non-profits, school boards, be elected to public office, as well as further their own professional growth and development within their organizations.

Founded in 1989 by Jonathan “Pete” and Gretchen Steffan, Grove Associates provides organizational development consulting, custom training, human resource support and executive coaching for senior-level decision makers. Their client list includes large national firms, small regional firms, professional services firms and start-up companies in many business sectors and both partners hold the Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) designation.

Limited space is still available for the 2012 class of 20 individuals. In order to participate, applicants must complete an application and be accepted by the Leadership Advisory Council. Tuition is $950 per person, which covers meals, materials, supplies, bus transportation, and accommodations during the overnight retreat.
