Find Yourself Surrounded by Green Lasers

ARCC is having a Member Ribbon Cutting at 4:30pm, Thursday, May 24th for FunWorld’s latest attraction, the Laser Maze Challenge! Hit a button and find yourself surrounded by green lasers. Some of them even move. The goal is to get through as fast as you can and touch the targets inside without breaking any of the laser beams.

ARCC’s Network for Enterprising Women Presents Cybersecurity Program

The Adirondack Regional Chamber of Commerce (ARCC) Network for Enterprising Women (N.E.W.) will present “Cybersecurity: How to Protect Yourself and Your Business” at its monthly luncheon on Tuesday, May 1 2012, 11:45am – 1:00pm at the West Side Grille at West Mountain, 59 West Mountain Road, Queensbury.

Presented by Kathleen Kelleher, Glens Falls National Bank & Trust Co., the program will address simple security measures that can lessen the likelihood of losing of your identity or your bank account to cyber criminals, who are waiting for you to make the wrong “click”.

9th Annual Special Olympics Golf Open Coming in May

The 2012 Special Olympics Golf Open is scheduled for Friday, May 18, 2012 at the Hiland Park Country Club in Queensbury.  Format is a 4-person scramble.  Cost is $125 per golfer and includes greens fees, cart, dinner and golf contests.

All golfers are invited to play in this important Special Olympics fundraiser.  Anyone can form a foursome to participate in the tournament, or if you don’t have a foursome, join us as a twosome or as an individual and we will partner you with other golfers to make a foursome.  It’s a great way to make new friends and meet other supporters of Special Olympics. The Adirondack Regional Chamber of Commerce (ARCC) announced its 23rd J. Walter Juckett Community Service Award will be presented to Glens Falls Regional President of NBT Bank Dan Burke, at the 98th Annual J. Walter Juckett Awards Banquet & United Way Auction on Thursday, February 9, 2012 at the Glens Falls Civic Center Heritage Hall in downtown Glens Falls.

Burke, who has been the Glens Falls Regional President of NBT since June 2007, has 25 years banking experience, including serving as president and chief executive officer of TD Banknorth New York and its predecessor, Evergreen Bank. Over the years, Burke held several senior-level positions, including executive vice president of retail banking and senior vice president of marketing. Before entering the banking industry, he was a consultant and federal employee in Washington, D.C. for ten years.

“Dan demonstrates a fierce commitment and hands-on dedication to the betterment of our local community,” said ARCC President and CEO Peter Aust. “Through his substantial contributions to the community, he has earned the respect and admiration of his peers. I can think of no one more deserving to receive this prestigious community service award than Dan Burke.” (more…)

Surrounded by politicians, dignitaries, local businessmen, interested members of the community, including children, the Chamber helped officially welcome the place that inspires curiosity and fosters understanding of worldwide cultural diversity. go! where children discover the world is the World Awareness Children’s Museum’s interactive exhibition space located at 89 Warren Street in Glens Falls.

On-hand for the ribbon cutting were: the Museum’s Executive Director Jacquiline Touba, the Museum’s Board of Trustees President Tony Taverni, New York State Assemblywoman Teresa Sayward, New York State Senator Betty Little, and many other prestigious members of the community.
