Adirondack Community College (ACC) is a member of the State University of New York system and is located on 141 acres in Queensbury. With an enrollment of approximately 3,700 full and part-time students, ACC offers credit-bearing courses for certificate and associate degree programs, as well as non-credit extended education programs. Serving the residents of Warren, Washington and Saratoga Counties, ACC is recognized for its outstanding faculty, small classes, quality education and success in preparing students for the workforce or transfer to four-year institutions. In addition, ACC is committed to delivering programs and services that are affordable, convenient and comprehensive in nature.
Adirondack Community College offers a wide selection of programs pursuant to an Associates of Arts, Associates of Science and Associates in Applied Science degrees and numerous Certificate Programs. Career opportunities are extensive for graduates completing a Certificate program in such areas as computer technology, hospitality and tourism management, teaching assistant and early childhood studies. For those interested in transfer opportunities for Bachelors' degrees, there are articulation agreements with numerous colleges and universities, including, but not limited to Siena College, College of Saint Rose, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Rochester Institute of Technology, Castleton State College in Vermont, College of St. Joseph of Vermont, as well as numerous SUNY institutions. The close working relationship between ACC and these institutions is evidenced by the ease with which these institutions accept ACC credits, as well as, in the instances of the College of Saint Joseph and Empire State College, provide scholarship monies to ACC graduates.
In addition, right here on ACC's Queensbury campus, there are opportunities to earn advanced degrees, including Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science and Masters degrees. Through cooperative agreements with several private and State University of New York institutions, a seamless pathway is available for students who complete two year degree programs at ACC and wish to pursue an advanced degree. Bachelor of Science degree opportunities in numerous majors, such as Human Resource Management, Computer Science, Marketing and Health Care Management, are available on a distance learning basis through our relationship with Franklin University. Masters degrees are available in Business Administration (MBA) from the College of Saint Rose. As Adirondack Community looks to the future, they intend to bring more programs, partnerships and opportunities to students through progressive and innovative leadership.
SUNY Plattsburgh, founded in 1889, is one of the original institutions of the State University of New York (SUNY) system created in 1948. Today, Plattsburgh State is a public, four-year, co-educational school with an enrollment of about 5,400 undergraduate and 700 graduate students. Plattsburgh offers nearly 60 majors in the arts and sciences, business and economics, and the professions. Plattsburgh prepares a diverse student population for a wide range of professional careers. Undergraduates receive a strong foundation in the liberal arts while graduate students obtain advanced professional preparation. Students are also prepared for a commitment to academic excellence, ethical values, lifelong learning, and responsible citizenship within the global community. The SUNY Plattsburgh Branch Campus at ACC offers Bachelors degrees in Childhood Education, Criminal Justice, Management, and Psychology, along with Masters degrees in Curriculum and Instruction, and Leadership. A Master of Science for Teachers degree and a Certificate of Advanced Studies in Educational Leadership are also available.
Empire State College also located on ACC's campus, offers a flexible way for the adult learner to take courses through regional centers throughout New York State, distance learning, special programs and corporate partnerships, along with a faculty mentoring program outside the traditional classroom. Empire State College is one of the first public, nontraditional institutions to receive regional accreditation by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools and has served thousands of adult learners since 1971. As Adirondack Community looks to the future, they intend to bring more programs, partnerships and opportunities to students through progressive and innovative leadership.
The College of St. Joseph, in Rutland, Vermont, is known for high-quality, career-oriented undergraduate and graduate degree programs, and an environment that promotes individual achievement. Degree programs in Education, Arts & Sciences, Business, Computer Information, and Psychology & Human Services provide students with comprehensive skills. Feature programs include Harvest: credit for prior experience; ACCEL: an accelerated degree program for adults; and ADD.ED: teacher licensure for qualified college graduates in English and Social Studies, grade 7-12.
Siena College is located in Loudonville, approximately 45 miles south of Glens Falls. The School of Business provides intellectually challenging educational programs in Accounting, Economics, Finance, Marketing and Management. Students are exposed to teaching strategies and modes of evaluation designed to emphasize active learning, collaborative activities, and critical and creative intellectual inquiry.
In support of the College's liberal arts and Franciscan mission, the School of Business strives to empower its students to address the challenges of an ever-changing world and a diverse society. Study in the liberal arts serves to inculcate and nurture the importance of life-long learning in their students. The Franciscan values imparted to students provide a moral compass for future behavior.
The School of Business requires students to master the fundamental knowledge and perspectives common to all business disciplines. Students are expected to develop the ability to define and synthesize, to form independent, well-reasoned judgments, and to understand and apply common business research methods and practice. Students will attain discipline specific knowledge through studies in their major field. Student learning is enriched by faculty and student inter-action with business, non-profit, and government enterprises through means such as international and domestic student internships, faculty externships, and business speaker series.
